A dead Apple Watch takes 20 to 30 minutes to power on, and we need it on to check the model and confirm it's unpaired. Charge it before you leave the house.
Unpair it from your iPhone.
Open the Watch app, tap your watch at the top, tap the i button, tap Unpair Apple Watch. This erases the watch and removes Activation Lock. We can't buy a watch that's still locked to your iCloud.
Not sure how?
Bring the iPhone it's paired with, charged. We'll do it with you at the counter, takes two minutes.
Keep your bands. We only need the watch.
